Winfried Kellner was born in Geelong, Australia in 1974 and grew up in Mexico. He studied guitar at the University of Guadalajara before completing his music education diploma with Professor Werner Kämmerling in Dortmund (Germany). His teachers included Thomas Kirchhoff, Dale Kavanagh and Hubert Käppel.
In 2004 Winfried Kellner finished his concert exam at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold (Germany) with the Canadian guitarist Dale Kavanagh. Since then he has appeared regularly as a soloist or with ensembles and has participated in major guitar festivals in Germany, England, France, ¬Spain, Italy, Portugal, Canada and Mexico. Winfried Kellner taught figured bass and music theory at the Hochschule für Musik in Dortmund from 2002 to 2004.
During his studies Winfried Kellner began composing. He found support and inspiration from com-posers such as Jörg Birkenkötter and Professor Tilmann Claus. Kellner‘s pieces for accordion and guitar met with great interest among the audience, so that his first works were published in 2003. Win-fried Kellner‘s works for guitar were played and recorded on CD by guitarists such as Dale Ka-vanagh, Juan Carlos Navarro or David Mozqueda. In 2007, Winfried Kellner won the CECA‘s prize of music and composed a guitar concert for the city of Guadalajara.
Today Winfried Kellner teaches at the University of Colima‘s College of Music in Mexico.
