Matthiesen (Hrsg.), Heike
Heike Matthiesen, editor of the series Collection Heike Matthisen is an internationally re-nowned soloist, loves chamber music and has played various plucked instruments at the Frankfurt Opera for many years. Highly praised recordings reflect their stylistic range. Heike Matthiesen has set herself the task of repeatedly commissioning composers with works and then incorporating them into her repertoire. In her series Collection Heike Matthiesen she publishes these (not only) pieces dedicated to her.
Heike Matthiesen was born into a family of musicians and received extensive training at an early age, albeit initially with the main instrument piano. It wasn‘t until she was 18 that she switched to the guitar and a year later began her studies at the Musikhochschule Frankfurt am Main. After that she became a master student of Pepe Romero.
Since then she has performed in over 30 countries. Since 2018 she has also been on the board of the Archive of Women and Music, the world‘s largest collection of works by wo-man composers.
