Frank Hill has been a freelance musician in Berlin since graduating from the Weimar College of Music in 1986. From 1981-1988, various artistic scholarships made it possible for him to study outside the country, these experiences have made a lasting impression on him. His formative success as an international concert guitarist and chamber musician began in 1987 and has taken him to important musical centers in Europe, Russia, India and South America. Since the beginning of the 1990s, Frank Hill has also received international attention as a composer. Starting in the mid-1980s, as a festival director he introduced new trends into Berlin's most important concert halls and in 1992 and 1994 he directed the internationally recognized "Festival for Chamber Music with Guitar" in the "Berliner Konzerthaus". Frank Hill made the world premiere of a series of dedicated works possible including chamber music and concertos with orchestra. In connection with his teaching activities at several Colleges of Music which he has pursued since 1987, a large number of his pedagogical publications have appeared with various music publishers. In 1994 he was elected president of the European Guitar Teachers Association (EGTA).
