Kleynjans was born on April 15, 1951 in Paris and began studying classical guitar at age14. He was a student of Alexandre Lagoy a at the Paris Conservatoire de Musique and completed his studies with the great Venezuelan guitarist Alirio Diaz. The Yehudi Menuhin Foundation has included him as a laureate. Kleynjans is not only just a talented performer, but a famous composer as well. With his piece "A l’Aube du Dernier Jour" , he was a prizewinner at the 22. International Guitar Competition in Paris. His compositions (about 600 works) are performed in all corners of the world. In Europe, Kleynjans is not only a guest at major festivals, but enjoys numerous radio and TV appearances as well. Both his orchestral works are performed with huge success, above all in the United States and Canada. In addition, a major portion of his work has been recorded on CD.
